What we collect, what we use it for, and the things we’ll never do with it.
Here’s how E&E Cost Segregation(“we,” “us”) handles your information when you request an estimate, place an order, or otherwise use our site. We’re an engineering firm, not an ad network, so the list of who touches your data is short — and so is this page.
What we collect
To build your study, we need a few things:
- Your name, email, and phone number
- The address of the property we’re studying
- Property records you upload — deeds, closing documents, depreciation schedules, photos, construction details, that kind of thing
- Your payment information, which Stripe handles end-to-end. Stripe is the industry leader in card security, and the way they’re wired into our checkout means we never see your full card number — not even our database does.
What we use it for
- Building the cost segregation study you ordered
- Emailing you about it — status updates, requests for missing records, the final report
- Answering questions before, during, and after delivery
- Meeting our own tax, accounting, and audit-substantiation obligations
Who else touches your data
Only the providers we genuinely need to deliver your study, and each one gets the minimum it needs to do its job:
- Stripe— processes your payment
- DocuSign— handles signatures on your engagement letter and deliverables
- Our cloud database provider— stores your project records and final deliverables, encrypted in transit and at rest
- Our email delivery provider— sends the transactional emails about your project
- Our property data provider— pulls public parcel and assessor information for your address
- Google Workspace— internal staff tools (email, document review, calendar)
- Your tax preparer or CPA— only when you tell us to share the study with them
What we don’t do with your data
- We don’t sell it. Not now, not ever.
- We don’t hand it to advertisers or data brokers.
- We don’t use it to market unrelated products or services to you.
- We don’t run third-party trackers or surveillance pixels. The current site has no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no advertising cookies. If you don’t see a provider listed above, it isn’t getting your data.
How long we keep it
Cost segregation studies are tax records. The IRS audit window for depreciation positions can extend several years after a return is filed, so we retain your project files for seven (7) years after delivery. After that, we delete the records on request, or automatically as part of routine cleanup.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you what we have on file about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your data — subject to the seven-year tax-record retention requirement above for any active or recently-completed study
Email jane@recostsegregation.comwith your request and we’ll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Cookies
Our website uses only the essential cookies needed to keep the site working (for example, remembering your place in the property form between steps). We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party trackers in this version of the site.
Children
Our service is for property owners and businesses. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Updates to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. For material changes, we’ll email anyone who has an active project with us.
